What is the best discount offer for online buying?

I am avid buyer and found of buying online. I have been using internet for online transactions from more than decade now. Have started online buying from time when Flipkart was just selling books and few other e-retailers were there to sell electronics with limited capacity and lot of enthusiasm which finally got them sidelined from main race as they lacked vision and strategy.

In these 10 years I witnessed e-commerce to grow like more than 100% yoy (As few may state this data) and its being considered as untapped future opportunity in India as we go digital. But what is the long term impact on our buying behavior with all biggies coming in and fighting for their share of pie? What is the best discount offer I should be looking at when go online?

I tested it today inconclusive:

I wanted to buy Sports Shoe. I have two choices either to buy online vs to visit an outlet nearby.

Since at first hand I wanted to explore some options I began with searching some well-known brands like Reebok and Puma.

Searched almost 3-4 websites and finally froze down to Amazon.in as it was offering FLAT 70% off on Reebok and some 50 % on Puma (Just time being this offers was). In the anxiety of not missing the offer I went on exploring options to consider for buying.

One point was for sure and amazing as 50-70 % discount is something you certainly won’t get on any of the mall or outlet as far as my experience goes.

I kept on checking some shoes which could offer me dual satisfaction

1.       Value for money

2.       Good look associated with well-known brand

Shoe below gathered my attention among all.

Reason, it showed price range between Rs. 1749-7999, and well for buyer like me who wanted to get best shot on my satisfaction level it offered both at same time.

To my luck Size was also available.  

And it says 50% discount on the above. (What about Rs.7999 then???? Some typo may me or just a gimmick)

Now since I was well aware of many sites and may offer same discount or less, I being wanted to save my hard earned money I was ready to spare some more time in goggling to find best deal for same product.

I began searching shoe will all text copied in name.

I got hold of an image on Google while searching for the above product … It certainly says Rs. 1299 which is 63% off.

The date when the above image was posted was a month back… that means… I wasn’t getting best offer.

Now I want to get answer on below question….

So shall I wait for another month and waste my time in following some good offers with 60-70% range? or

Shall I go to mall and try some shoes and decide on the one’s suit me even with 30% off??
